Villa Sapi in Lombok is a 5 bedroom, 3 pools masterpiece of design. Villa Sapi is bordered by Sira Beach against a backdrop of soothing seas, soaring peaks and sensational sunsets. Villa Sapi has a tennis court an additional childrem's pool and a stand-alone 2-bedroom guesthouse. Sapi with its funky architecture, set on a 2500m2 land, offers an exemplary service and gourmet cuisine. Villa Sapi’s massive beachfront garden, makes it also an ideal Lombok wedding or event venue, which can host up to 40 guests. Villa Sapi is secluded but not isolated, its neighbours include the Kosaido Golf Country Club and The Oberoi.
Canadian architect David Lombardi’s concept of ‘Function over Form’ leaves Villa Sapi’s guests with a sense of discovery and surprise at every turn, from the traditionally styled, grass-roofed building that houses the main kitchen to a futuristic home theatre.
Villa Sapi's main swimming pool extends for 25 metres between the beach and the main house. It is deep enough to dive into and has a springboard. Sunloungers rest upon the grassy deck and a modern flat-roofed balé (relaxation pavilion) sits at one end. Running alongside the main pool is a shallow (80cm-deep) children’s pool. Two more swimming pools serve the guesthouse on two different levels, both of them are bordered by small timber decks. Dotted with dozens of towering coconut palms, villa Sapi's garden fronts onto the beach and is so huge that guests will have no problem escaping to private areas. A wooden structure in one corner of the grounds serves as an elevated, sheltered platform for watching tennis on the adjacent, floodlit court.
Villa Sapi’s living and dining areas lie below the soaring roof of an open-fronted pavilion. The sitting area is furnished with plentiful sofas and ottomans crafted in coconut shell veneer. In the dining area, an impressive wooden table seats 14. There’s a second sitting area at the guesthouse, with six comfy chairs and a solid wood coffee table. With views over the garden, the air-conditioned oval study is characterised by curved walls of white stone and glass. The villa’s two kitchens are connected via a bridge over an ornamental pond. A thatched lumbung featuring ornate carvings and wooden shutters is furnished with two massage beds and serves as a spa room in the garden.
Villa Sapi's ‘space-age’ home theatre is wrapped in bamboo and appears to hover above the ground. With its sides of glass and heavy sliding door accessed via a solid stone step, this unique building features funky ceiling lamps ten bright beanbags are arranged for comfortable viewing. The room features a large flat-screen satellite-channel TV and DVD player fitted with surround-sound.
Villa Sapi’s master bedroom is accessed from the living room via an unusual swivel door. Cooled by both air-conditioning and ceiling fan, this spacious room features concrete floors and white walls adorned with artwork. A king bed with coconut-shell veneer takes pride of place, while floor-to-ceiling windows look out over an ornamental pond against a backdrop of garden and sea. The ensuite bathroom presents three distinct areas, one of which contains clothes storage and a twin vanity. The main bathroom area features circular skylights that channel the sunshine and moonlight, a multi-faceted shower and a bathtub next to a picture window that looks out towards the ocean. Beyond this, a rain shower stands open to the tropical elements in the garden.
The First Guest bedroom is off the living room. It is ideal for kids or a young family with its king-size four-poster bed that neatly incorporates a large trundle bed below its frame. This wooden-floored room is also furnished with wardrobe storage. Doors slide open from the bedroom onto a private terrace overlooking the garden.
Similar in size and layout, the second guest bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed crafted in coconut shell which ‘floats’ above a sea of white pebbles. A sliding door opens to an ensuite bathroom fitted with a vanity unit embedded with colourful guitar plectrums and an outdoor shower screened for privacy. This bedroom also has its own private terrace, accessed from the bedroom, which features a furnished deck beside a pond with garden views.
Villa Sapi's guest pavilion hosts two urban-chic air-conditioned bedrooms. One of these, on the same level as the sitting area, features polished concrete floors, walls and ceiling. It is furnished with a king bed, a desk and fitted wardrobes. Glass doors slide open to a sheltered wooden deck beside a private swimming pool. The ensuite indoor bathroom has a tub facing the sea and a single vanity unit. An outdoor ‘bamboo pipe’ shower opens to the garden.
A flight of stairs in the guest pavilion descends to a semi-subterranean bedroom (5th bedroom) with a steeply curved concrete roof. Despite its unusual situation, the room is filled with plenty of natural light courtesy of a wall of glass opening to a second private swimming pool where sunbeds rest on a timber deck.Furnished with a king bed featuring decorative white pebbles underneath, this air-conditioned bedroom has a huge walk-in wardrobe and a sitting area next to the glass doors. The ensuite bathroom has a tub facing the sea, a single washbasin and an alfresco poolside rain shower.
A full team of staff is on hand at Villa Sapi to look after every guest’s need with superb cuisine and service. The villa’s manager, chef and head butler were all previously employed by The Oberoi Hotel Group and have been trained to the highest level. A wide range of activities is available to guests at Villa Sapi, including tennis on the villa’s private court, golf, snorkelling, diving, waterfall hikes and mountain trekking, cycling, day trips to the nearby Gili Islands, cookery classes and more.

TEAM AT VILLA SAPI WERE AMAZING
"
From the second we arrived till the minute we left, the team at Villa Sapi were amazing. We had the most memorable time with our children and friends, staying in the gorgeous architecturally designed Villa and relaxing around the expansive grounds. The food by Chef and his team was incredible. I would recommend Villa Sapi to anyone who wants to feel like a rock star!!!

"
FOOD WAS CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT
"
We were highly impressed by the overall quality of service during our stay. The members of staff were good humoured and friendly from the welcome to the farewell. They were obliging and did their best to accommodate every request without being obsequious. Housekeeping activities were unobtrusive and went virtually unnoticed, something which never failed to amaze. We managed to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway without a single hiccup or annoyance as a result. On top of that, the food was consistently excellent across all meals, and dietary requirements were effortlessly met and delivered. The staff, especially the chef, should be highly commended as they exceeded all expectations and made our stay at Villa Sapi a truly memorable one.
